Jenny’s Not Dead – Episode #1
Mike and I just released our first series, Jenny’s Not Dead (JND), on July 29, 2015.
JND can be found on Amazon and Smashwords.
You might be thinking that this is another zombie apocalypse story — which we’re not totally against writing — but it’s not. I love me some zombies and dig all the head crushing and gooey zombie guts, but I also love a good ghost story…
“Jenny’s Not Dead” might be that. It might not be. One thing it is is a mystery. It’s about a lady named Jenny who died years ago and about her likable nephew, Alan Case, who returns to the town of Lake Forest where she died and where he was born to start a new life.
Alan immediately meets Jenny’s adoptive mother, Helen Shore-Rourke, who invites Alan to live with her in her childhood home with her opinionated Aunt Vivien and moody brother, Jim. Helen is part of the Shore family, a family juxtaposed to Alan’s wealthy family, the Case family, in the same town. His grandmother, Vanessa Case, a nemesis to Helen, lives in a mansion on a hill and is not well liked. The series is based on secrets, intrigue, deception and murder.
He soon finds something personal that belonged to Jenny before she died and starts to have dreams in which she calls on him for help. He starts to believe that her essence is surrounding him. This leads him and his lover and best friend, Jed, to believe that Jenny might still be alive.
“Jenny’s Not Dead” is a mystery story, and much more than that. It’s a story about love, loss, deep friendships and relationships. It’s about Jenny’s life, but it’s also about Alan, who is dealing with who he is: a young man with psychic abilities that will develop as the series progresses.
We invite you to take a ride to Lake Forest near the misty Loon Lake. The lake is deep and behind every shadow there is a mystery to solve. Will you solve them? Can anyone solve them?
